Alango Voice Communication Package of technologies is available on CSR Bluecore 5 Multimedia (BC5MM) ICs.

VCP for CSR BC5MM can be used in a variety of Bluetooth applications such as hands-free car kits, headsets, speakerphones, handsets, etc. VCP for CSR BC5MM implements the following audio processing blocks:

• Tx (microphone) channel:
• Adaptive Dual Michrophone (ADM)
• Echo Canceller (EC);
• Noise Canceller (NC);
• Frequency equalizer (EQ)
• Noise Gate (NG)
• Dynamic Range Compressor (DRC)
• Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
• Rx (loudspeaker) channel:
• Frequency equalizer (EQ)
• Noise Gate (NG)
• Dynamic Range Compressor (DRC)
• Automatic Gain Control (AGC)
• Double Talk Gain Control (DTGC)
• Noise Dependant Volume Control (NDVC)

VCP signal processing flowchart is presented in a figure below.

Though VCP is a universal library suitable for any voice applications, special VCP version optimized for headset applications is available as an option.

VCP library is fully compatible with CSR CVC (Clear Voice Capture) library. VCP integration into BC5MM-based product is straightforward and simple. All one need to do is to replace CVC.KAP file with VCP.KAP file in the BlueLab project without any changes required in the controller application code. Of course, relevant acoustic processing parameters must be written into the corresponding persistent store on-chip memory.

VCP acoustic parameters can be then easily configured using VCP Configurator which is a graphical PC (MS Windows) utility. VCP Configurator main screen represents a block diagram of VCP DSP library with configurable parameters for each signal processing block. PC Configurator screenshot is shown in a figure below.

VCP Configurator provides full control over VCP parameters via persistent store memory (PSKEYs) of the BC5-based device.  With the help of this configuration utility system integrator can change and apply VCP parameters “on-the-fly” during an active call. VCP package will re-init itself with new parameters in less than 5 seconds.
